Large bright deckhouse with sofa benches on both sides and steering position to starboard. Large windows throughout the deckhouse make it easy to keep an overview. Well-equipped steering position with most equipment and electronics. Rotating window with heating is practical when visibility is poor.
From the wheelhouse you come down to a spacious salon with a galley and sofa set to port. The galley has plenty of storage space in cupboards and drawers, as well as good counter space. Good height above deck of approx. 2m. Good light from skylights in both the wheelhouse and the saloon.
On the starboard side is the owner's cabin with a double berth as well as a guest cabin with a double berth. Spacious toilet with shower. In the bow there is a cabin with four berths. All 8 berths on board have a length of approx. 2m. Option to lower the table in the lounge and get a couple more berths.
Good access to the engine room where you can get to the engine from all sides. Lots of overhead lights and vents throughout the boat.
On deck, it stands out with its large solid teak deck with space for a seating area, plenty of sunroom and a safe cockpit aft.
Solid and seaworthy boat built to withstand tough conditions. With its weight, long lead keel, powerful engine and bow thruster, the boat is easy to maneuver even in bad weather. The hull has an ice skin in stainless steel. Sails have been examined by the sailmaker in 2023.
Fork-rigged schooner with duradon sails. All fittings in the rig are in acid-resistant steel. The boat has a solid and reliable Scania DN 11 engine with 240 hp, shaft and fixed adjustable propeller. Only 3600 hours!
Engine has been newly overhauled for around NOK 200,000, and comes with a 1-year warranty! Documentation is available and can be sent on request.
Large fuel capacity gives a long range. Nice cruising speed of 6-7 knots at 1000 RPM.

This is NOT an original Colin Archer. MS VARDEN was built by the renowned boat builder “Brekneholmen Båtbyggeri” on Lista in 1988 based on inspiration from drawings of the well known Colin Archer ships.
Normal wear and tear for 1988 model. Good condition, but some work and maintenance must be expected, as on every used boat.
On a general basis, we always recommend that the boat is examined thoroughly before purchase. We can be helpful in organizing surveys, sea trials, inspection lifts etc.
